Walking Directions - From Cambridge Marriott Hotel to Tang Center
From the Cambridge Marriott Hotel (near the Kendall/MIT T stop), take the Main Street exit door (instead of Broadway), turn left on Main Street. You will see Au Bon Pain, and Bank of America across the Street. Turn right at the Bank of America corner onto Wadsworth Street. Continue on Wadsworth street one block (about 100 yards). The Tang Center entrance is just across Amherst Street. The Sloan School of Management buildings will be on your left across Wadsworth Street just before Memorial Drive and the Charles River.

Walking Directions - From From Hotel Le Méridien Cambridge-MIT to Tang Center
From the Hotel, turn right at Sidney Street onto Massachusetts Avenue.  Turn left onto Memorial Drive. You will see a tennis court on your left, the Tang Center should be about a hundred yards from there.  Three Buildings are there: E51 (see the red arrow on map), E52 (also called Sloan Building), and E53 (Herman Building). E51 is on the right side of Wadsworth Street.  Incidentally, the MIT Faculty Club is on the 6th Floor of E52.

  • Take the I-93 south exit off of I-95. Heading south on I-93, take exit 26 and follow the signs to Back Bay along Storrow Drive West, approximately 1.5 miles, to the exit for Route 2A. The exit will be on the left, just before the Harvard Bridge (also known as the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge). The Charles River will be on your right. At the top of the ramp, take a right onto Massachusetts Avenue. As you cross the river, you will be looking at MIT. The Great Dome and academic facilities will be on the right, and the dormitories and athletic facilities on the left.

  • To find a place to park, turn left at the Vassar Street light just before the main entrance to MIT. Follow Vassar Street for a few blocks to Kendall Square, where several commercial lots are located. You can also turn right onto Memorial Drive from Massachusetts Avenue. Take the first U-turn to travel east on Memorial Drive. The main Sloan building (E52), 50 Memorial Drive, will be on your left.

Subway Directions

For complete details, visit the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Homepage

  • From any T accessible location, take the Red Line Alewife direction to Kendall Square stop. The T has four lines: the Red Line, the Blue Line, the Orange Line, and the Green Line. Thus, you need to change T at Park Street or Downtown Crossing if you are on a T line other than red. To get to SloanOnce above ground (you'll be on Main Street), head for the nearby Fleet Bank on the corner of Wadsworth Street. Walk half a block down Wadsworth toward the river, then cross the street to a wide flight of stone steps &mdash the Sloan Plaza. The Hermann Building (which houses the Sloan library and faculty offices; also known as E53) is straight ahead, and the main Sloan building (E52) is on your right.
  • From the airport, take the SL1 Silver Line bus from your terminal through the dedicated tunnel under the harbor to South Station on the T Red Line. Follow signs to the Red Line Alewife platform. Take an Alewife or Harvard train to the Kendall/MIT station (four stops). During rush hours the entire trip could take about 30 minutes. During off-hours it could take an hour.
  • The fare on T trains, trolleys, and buses is under $2.00, with free transfers between lines. If you have or pick up a "Charlie Card", fares are a bit lower and more convenient.
