Dear Colleagues,
It has been a dream for many of us in the field that someday there will be a world-class graduate DQ/IQ program. I am pleased to announce that the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, in collaboration with MIT IQ program, is in the process of obtaining curriculum approval for just such a program -
a Master of Science in Information Quality (MS IQ) - with the goal of enrolling the first students in the Fall of 2006. The program will be the first of its kind, and a very timely present for the 10th Anniversary of ICIQ (MIT IQ) Conference. At the ICIQ-05 Conference at MIT on November 5th, a representative from UALR will be the Saturday lunch keynote to give us an update on the program. The MS IQ program has unanimous support from the UALR Chancellor, Provost, and Dean of the Donaghey College of Information Science and Systems Engineering, the college where the MS IQ will reside. We are also fortunate enough to have an initial endowment for Prof. John Talburt to be a named chair of Information Quality. I have been asked, and I have accepted, the challenge to support Prof. Talburt in making the MS IQ program a world-class program, and develop a DQ/IQ research institute at UALR.
For the MS IQ program to be successful, however, we will need all of your help to promote such a program. More specifically, you can
Recommend students for the MS IQ program Application and admission processes must be complete by Spring 2006.
