MIT > MITIQ Home  > MIT-PLATO Research Program

China is looking to lead a transformation in technology and industry, but first it must harness its understanding of trends in global innovation such as big data in order to fully and effectively implement changes. The primary objective of the MIT-Plato Program is to promote cooperation in scientific research in several topics of interest, such as platform economics, the Chief Data Officer (CDO), information quality, big data economics, and venture capital investment and commercialization.

We expect that this collaborative relationship will lead to scientific publications, case studies, as well as academic exchanges, advanced training, and conferences in China. We plan to invite MIT's relevant institutions and centers, including, but not limited to MIT SSRC, MIT ILP, and MISTI’s MIT-China Program, in addition to Chinese institutions, such as Jiaotong University and Beijing University, to participate in this research effort. As the collaborative relationship strengthens and enters a substantive stage, we plan to invite high-level Chinese visitors to MIT. Officials targeted for invitation include provincial and national government leaders, enterprise leaders, and academic scholars.
