OUR MISSION & OBJECTIVES
Capture & Harness the Power of Information. MIT Information Quality Industry Symposium (IQIS) is the premium forum that facilitates the vibrant discussion among practitioners and academicians, on how to improve the quality of information transmitted, stored, and processed in organizations. The Symposium aims to help both private and public sectors organizations leverage their information to dramatically improve their productivity and effectively contribute to the socio-economic development of the society at large. ..[read more About Us]
This upcoming Symposium is held in cooperation with DAMA Global Chapter and German Society for Information and Data Quality (DGIQ). In addition, Burton Group, Electronic Commerce Code Management Association (ECCMA), Harte-Hanks Trillium Software, and DataFlux are providing the promotional assistance and other sponsorships.


SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS

TUTORIAL WORKSHOPS (Day 1, 9 AM-12:30 PM)

Eight leading industry experts will provide tutorial workshops on a wide range of IQ topics such as Business Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, and ISO 8000. These industry experts includes Bill Inmon (widely known as the "father of Data Warehousing"), Larry English, Peter Benson (Executive Director of ECCMA), Kathie Sowell, and Gwen Thomas (President of the Data Governance Institute).


GOVERNMENT TRACK (Track A)

The Government Track aims to strengthen the national security and improve diverse government services, by enhancing and leveraging on the quality of information. Many leading practitioners from government agencies and industry will share their knowledge and present their best practice cases. In particular, David S. Alberts from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Margo Schwab from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will be speaking in this track.


HEALTHCARE TRACK (Track B)

The Healthcare Track explores the role of Information Quality in enhancing our healthcare and making the healthcare services efficient and affordable. In particular, four speakers from Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Harvard Medical School, including Donald Goldmann, Senior Vice President of IHI, will share their experience on diverse IQ-related areas in healthcare such as health informatics and biosurveillence. In addition, Eric Nielsen, Chief Medical Officer of GRIPA will be speaking on a timely subject, healthcare information exchange.


BUSINESS TRACK (Tracks C & D)

The Business Track focuses on how to improve the competitiveness and efficiency of business firms by enhancing the quality of their information, ultimately contributing to the economic development of the society at large. Leading practitioners from many organizations, such as Freddie Mac, Yahoo!, Citigroup, Accenture, EAdirections, and Open Data Group will present IQ methodologies, tools, and their latest best practice cases.
